One of the most common reasons people give for not trying alternative forms of transportation is the fear of being stranded at work or unable to get home quickly in an emergency. The Guaranteed Ride Home program takes the fear out of leaving your car at home! If you are registered as a carpool or vanpool participant in the commuteSmart Rideshare database, you are eligible for the Guaranteed Ride Home.

commuteSmart Rideshare will provide up to three (3) rides per year via taxicab or rental car, depending on the situation and how far you live from work. When you register, you will receive information on the program. Simply call commuteSmart Rideshare at 1-800-826-Ride to request a ride when you need to use the Guaranteed Ride Home program.

The program can only be used for personal and family emergencies or unscheduled overtime at the request of your supervisor. It is not intended for rides to work, scheduled appointments, or planned overtime. Please make sure you are registered with commuteSmart Rideshare  before requesting use of the Guaranteed Ride Home program.
